Kingdom Causes is partnering with Impact Nations to restore the lives of marginalized women in Kampala, Uganda. The School of Purpose is a tailored training program that incorporates formal and informal teaching practices. The courses include knitting, tailoring, urban farming, hair dressing, literacy and numeracy, life skills, and biblical training.

What we’ve accomplished:

This project is necessary in order to address the needs of vulnerable women in Uganda where nearly 40% of women who have given birth before the age of 18 and the majority are unemployed or uneducated. Equipping them with highly specialized skills and business training throughout this nine-month program, students are provided with basic business training and on-the-job internships, giving them the confidence they need to go into the marketplace and become fully self-sustained, giving them great hope for better lives for them and their children.

Kingdom Causes fully funded the first year, phase one of the project and continues to be the primary source of funding for the program.

Over 700 students have graduated from the school of purpose since 2017. Many have gone on to start their own business, while dozens of others have found full-time employment and a safe home to raise their children. Some were able to continue with their formal education and are now attending university!

I won’t fail now, because I not only have skill in catering, hair dressing, and crafts making, I also have a big God. I am so thankful for partners like the Kingdom Causes and Impact Nations who help young women like me. God Bless You.” - Joan, 2019 graduate School of Purpose
